About the Role

Play a pivotal role at the centre of significant business transformation. As our Technical Accountant, you will provide specialist accounting expertise to support complex transactions, business restructuring and integration activity across the Group. This role focuses on ensuring appropriate accounting treatment, clear financial outcomes and alignment between commercial intent and accounting delivery. Supporting a major merger initiative, you will work across transaction execution, completion and integration to assess accounting impacts and support implementation of outcomes. You will partner closely with Finance, Actuarial, Legal and HR to interpret transaction structures and legal agreements, translating these into clear accounting positions, financial impacts and practical implementation requirements. This is a highly visible role where you will support board materials, completion activities and integration planning to ensure outcomes are robust, controlled and aligned. If you are a technically strong accountant with experience supporting transactions, restructures or integration activity, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation and review of completion accounts and key financial adjustments

  • Identify risks, gaps or misalignment in proposed structures and outcomes
  • Support the preparation of board materials, clearly articulating accounting implications and key judgements
  • Document accounting positions, assumptions and rationale to support governance and audit requirements

  • Strong stakeholder management skills across multiple functions
  • Solid understanding of IFRS, including acquisition and restructuring accounting
  • Experience interpreting legal agreements and assessing accounting outcomes
  • Understanding of completion processes and financial close impacts
  • Ability to translate accounting requirements into practical business and financial outcomes
