About the Role
As a Senior Payroll System Analyst reporting to the Group Manager Payroll Operations, you will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and entire support of the SAP payroll system/ECP module. You will proactively use a testing environment, creating testing scenarios to ensure all aspects of payroll processes are covered, including batch uploads and leave absence/accrual impacts. This role leads the configuration of the payroll system, ensuring high levels of accuracy and legislative compliance.
Responsibilities
- Support the payroll team as a key stakeholder, resolving day-to-day payroll-related business-as-usual (BAU) issues.
- Conduct testing before go-live for new wage types and configurations based on business requirements.
- Support all payroll-related projects and execute test cases for newly negotiated Enterprise Agreements (EAs) before their go-live.
- Support End-of-Financial-Year (EOFY) activities and internal payroll audit activities.
- Collaborate with the payroll system vendor, Capgemini, for ECP BAU issues and system improvement projects.
- Proactively raise incidents with Capgemini in ServiceNow for any BAU system-related issues.
- Utilize Jira for recording testing outcomes and providing feedback for improvements.
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, HR, or IT.
- 3-5 years of payroll and/or payroll system management experience.
- Advanced knowledge of SAP or other ERP, and Word/Excel.
- Considerable experience in a large payroll environment (1,000+ employees) in both salaried and award environments.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work within established processing timeframes and deadlines to complete tasks accurately with attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze complex payroll situations and make recommendations.
- Eligibility checks are required for the recruitment process and ongoing employment.
