About the Role

As the Chief Engineer, you will assist the Area Director of Engineering & Security in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling all aspects of Engineering and Security activities. Your role is crucial in maintaining the established standards of working order, attractive condition of guestrooms, public areas, and back-of-house, as well as ensuring the safekeeping of the entire property for guests and colleagues.

Responsibilities

Supervises, develops, and maintains an ongoing maintenance operation for the hotel, including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment, preventive maintenance, guestrooms, air/heating units, ice machines, swimming pools, lighting, kitchen equipment, water softeners, and electrical substations.
Maintains the hotel by performing painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities.
Supports the oversight and provision of necessary support to departmental safety trainers in the implementation of the training plan.
Anticipates and plans for various emergency situations.
Supports training for the Emergency Response Team.
Supports regular safety system tests and practice fire drills, evacuation drills, and bomb threat drills.
Responds to various emergency situations as appropriate.
Supports hotel F&B hygiene controls and implementation of hygiene policy and procedures.
Ensures adequate CCTV coverage of all critical areas.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years in a supervisory level position for Engineering/Security Department in the hospitality industry.
Fluency in English and Japanese.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
