About the Role
As an AI/Machine Learning and Data Scientist, you will collaborate with cross-functional partners to build scalable data and AI capabilities. You will unlock value from structured and unstructured healthcare data to support real-world clinical and operational applications, contributing to HLI's mission of redefining proactive healthcare through precision medicine.
Responsibilities
- Build advanced data science, machine learning, and AI capabilities for data-driven healthcare applications.
- Identify opportunities to leverage complex datasets for innovative, practical solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional experts to conceptualize, develop, and implement AI solutions.
- Apply advanced machine learning methods, including LLMs and NLP, to extract insights from unstructured medical datasets.
- Build robust, data-driven solutions that translate complex analysis into practical applications.
- Design and develop scalable data pipelines to improve data quality, accessibility, and reliability.
- Evaluate and implement AI agent platforms and autonomous AI assistants to automate workflows.
- Create reusable and scalable tools to unlock information across data sources.
- Partner with stakeholders to move models and workflows from concept to production.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of experience applying advanced machine learning and AI techniques to clinical data.
- Direct experience with Large Language Models and prompt optimization.
- Strong experience in machine learning, AI, or predictive analytics in healthcare, life sciences, or genomics.
- Ability to work cross-functionally in environments with ambiguity and evolving priorities.
- Experience with LLM workflows including fine-tuning and RAG.
- Familiarity with software engineering principles and production deployment.
- Experience partnering with clinical subject matter experts.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects from concept through implementation.
