About the Role
The Director, Digital Technology and Advanced Manufacturing will leverage extensive professional networks, business development skills, industry expertise, and leadership to develop prioritized industry sector strategies and generate new export business opportunities for Canadian companies. This role focuses on coordinating and executing EDC’s corporate approach to prioritized sectors, leading the Canadian exporter engagement in the Business Connection Program, and supporting other EDC teams to deliver results.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the overall EDC strategy for digital and advanced manufacturing industry engagement.
- Provide leadership to direct reports and a cross-functional group of subject matter experts.
- Foster insights gathering and exchange to amplify the ability of sector-focused practitioners.
- Manage the delivery of a partnership approach to drive priorities.
- Build and deliver tools and approaches to support shared objectives for capital deployment, connections, and market penetration.
- Lead the ongoing deployment of the Canadian exporter side of the Business Connection Program.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement to ensure optimal capacity utilization and leverage synergies with other teams.
Requirements
- Undergraduate or graduate degree (or equivalent professional designation) in a relevant discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of combined business development and technical advisory experience focused on digital tech and/or advanced technologies, advanced manufacturing.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience.
- Advanced knowledge of best practices in sales and/or account management.
- Well-developed and deep global professional network and strong technical and business knowledge.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and lead virtual teams, leveraging influencing skills.
- Bilingual in both official languages (English and French) – minimum speaking proficiency (Level B2).
- Ability to work legally in Canada (Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents).
- Must meet requisite government security screening requirements.

Salary/Compensations
- Salaries typically range from $129,928 to $190,000 annually, plus a performance-based incentive.
