About the Role

The Commissioner Support Officer provides administrative, clerical, and secretarial support services to the Commissioners and Registrars of the Land and Environment Court. This role offers a unique opportunity to support judicial decision-making and gain exposure to court operations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and format judgments, decisions, orders and correspondence, including proofreading for accuracy.
  • Provide administrative and secretarial support to Commissioners and Registrars, including document preparation and liaising with parties.
  • Perform registry duties such as filing, data entry, responding to enquiries and assisting at the counter.
  • Maintain accurate records using case management systems, including updating files and publishing judgments.
  • Arrange payments and travel bookings for Commissioners and Registrars.
  • Deliver high-quality client service when responding to enquiries from court users.
  • Assist with court officer duties, including court mentions, short hearings and delivery of judgments.

Requirements

  • Fast and accurate typing skills (minimum 50 wpm) with strong attention to detail and proofreading ability.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience using computer systems, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a high-volume environment.

  • Clerk Grade 1/2, ($75,728 - $82,329) + super + leave loading
