About the Role
EDC helps Canadian businesses succeed abroad by providing financial tools and expertise to explore new markets and reduce risks, aiming to build a better Canada and world through trade.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement EDC's overall strategy to engage the digital and advanced manufacturing sector for results.
- Formally and informally coach direct reports and the cross-functional team of subject matter experts.
- Foster information gathering and sharing to enhance sector specialists' ability to impact Canadian exporters through virtual communities of practice.
- Manage the implementation of a partnership-focused approach to prioritization.
- Design and implement tools and approaches to support the business development group's common objectives for capital deployment, relationship building, and market penetration.
- Lead the ongoing deployment of the Canadian exporter portion of the business matching program.
- Promote innovation and continuous improvement to optimize capabilities, challenge the status quo, and identify synergies with other teams.
Requirements
- Undergraduate or graduate degree (or professional designation) in a relevant discipline.
- At least 10 years of combined business development and technical consulting experience primarily focused on digital, advanced technology, or advanced manufacturing.
- At least 5 years of leadership experience.
- In-depth knowledge of best practices in sales or account management.
- Extensive and well-established global professional network, with strong technical and business knowledge gained through relevant business activities.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and lead virtual teams, leveraging influence capabilities.
- Proficiency in both official languages – minimum B2 oral proficiency in second official language.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Must meet government security clearance requirements.
