About the Role
The Human Resources Administrative Intern provides administrative support to the HR team while gaining exposure to human resources operations in a professional workplace environment. This internship offers high school students the opportunity to develop organizational, communication, and office skills through hands-on experience with HR projects, filing, data organization, and employee engagement activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist with organizing, filing, and maintaining employee records and HR documents.
- Scan, copy, and electronically file paperwork in accordance with company procedures.
- Support data entry and recordkeeping activities while maintaining confidentiality.
- Assist with preparing materials for employee meetings, training sessions, and onboarding activities.
- Help coordinate and set up company-sponsored summer events, employee appreciation activities, and wellness programs.
- Prepare event supplies, assemble materials, and assist with event logistics.
- Support HR staff with administrative projects and special assignments.
- Answer phones, greet visitors, and direct inquiries as needed.
- Assist with organizing office supplies and maintaining HR department work areas.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Current high school student, age 16 or older preferred.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry materials up to 20 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to perform routine office tasks, including filing, copying, and organizing materials.
Skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Dependable, punctual, and eager to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
