About the Role
The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in sales, customer service, store appearance, and operations. This position will manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence or when working opposing shifts, leading team members in servicing customers.
Responsibilities
- Lead store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
- Supervise customer service levels on the retail showroom, including team member execution on customer service programs.
- Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed during peak business hours.
- Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching, mentoring, and ensuring training compliance.
- Assist in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management.
- Ensure the telephone is answered according to company policy.
- Process buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders in a timely manner.
- Utilize the electronic outside purchase order ledger for special orders and outside purchases.
- Process retail customer returns and exchanges efficiently and accurately.
- Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, are invoiced before product leaves the store.
- Communicate Zipline messages and delegate merchandising tasks.
- Ensure team members comply with company policies, including adherence to work schedules and accurate clocking in/out.
- Perform all store opening/closing duties, including day-end procedures, cash handling, bank deposits, and security measures.
- Assist the store manager in maintaining store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Sales Specialist Training
- Assistant Manager Certification
- RSS Certification
- Certified Parts Professional Certification (Desired)
- ASE Certification (Desired)
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
