About the Role
The Assistant Superintendent coordinates field operations for specific areas and/or specific self-performed and subcontracted trades on a project, ensuring construction work aligns with the project's planned sequence and schedule, and implementing safety and quality control procedures.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate installation of work in accordance with contract documents, project schedule, and planned sequence.
- Ensure awareness of project milestone dates and their requirements.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of Contract Documents and assigned scope of work.
- Understand activity durations and develop plans for optimum equipment utilization.
- Know scheduled delivery dates for all material and equipment impacting assigned areas/trades.
- Supervise field work force to ensure cost-effective work execution.
- Manage budgets for supervised work and develop remedies for cost deviations.
- Implement the safety program, conducting regular inspections and taking remedial action.
- Establish hazard recognition procedures for new activities.
- Maintain knowledge of company safety standards, manuals, and procedures.
- Foster good working relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Proactively identify and develop relationships with industry professionals.
- Actively recruit top industry talent to join the Clark team.
- Identify, hire, and retain outstanding people.
- Exceed stakeholder expectations by anticipating their needs, desires, and goals.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to direct the work of others, including subcontractors and suppliers.
- Working knowledge of the construction process, including scheduling, contract administration, equipment, and manpower.
- Well-versed in safety and government regulations (e.g., OSHA) with successful implementation on a job site.

- Ability to communicate effectively and possess visual acuity for reading plans and inspecting work.
- Adaptability to various weather conditions, moderate to loud noise levels, elevated or confined work areas, and moving mechanical equipment.
- Commitment to flexibility for extended hours, especially during critical project phases or client deadlines.
- Responsiveness to communications (phone, email, text) for time-sensitive matters or emergencies.
- Authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis.
