About the Role

Braze powers ambitious consumer engagement programs. You will own the flagship community platform, customer advocacy program, executive Customer Advisory Boards, and customer storytelling. You'll lead a team of five and partner with Product Marketing, Content Marketing, Customer Experience, Demand Generation, and events teams to integrate these programs into customer retention and growth strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the community function, owning the strategy and operating cadence of Braze Bonfire (online forums, regional meetups, recognition programs).
  • Wire the community into Braze operations, ensuring community signals feed account health and CS workflows, support deflection is measured, and meetups align with regional events strategy as a retention and expansion lever.
  • Lead the advocacy function, owning Braze Customer Champions end-to-end to produce references, speakers, storytellers, and product co-creators.
  • Make pulling from the champion bench the default move for every customer-facing team and measure influence with rigor (pipeline-touched, references-sourced, advocacy-led content produced).
  • Own Customer Advisory Boards, running high-stakes CABs aligned to Braze's flagship moments.
  • Build the executive-to-executive experience that earns time from strategic customers and partner with Product and PMM to turn customer insight into roadmap and narrative.
  • Own customer storytelling, capturing testimonials across video and written formats.
  • Keep customer voices flowing into case studies, campaigns, and analyst-facing programs with PMM and Content Marketing.
  • Co-design the journeys, shared identity, and measurement framework for a unified customer empowerment ecosystem (learner → community participant → advocate → champion).
  • Lead and develop a team of five (digital community, advocacy, community & learning events).
  • Set direction, raise the bar, and develop team members while operating credibly with VPs and SVPs.
  • Own a clear KPI tree including engagement, advocacy influence dollars, share of at-risk and expansion accounts touched by community and events, CAB follow-through, and story volume and utilization.
  • Build investment cases on the KPI framework.

Requirements

  • Led a customer advocacy program at scale in B2B software, including operating infrastructure, tiers, and GTM relationships.
  • Run a customer community of meaningful scale, optimizing for community as a customer experience.
  • Experience with platform migration or re-platforming.
  • Comfortable in pipeline conversations and defending function investment with credible numbers.
  • Operate cross-functionally at a senior level, resolving disagreements with peers.
  • Experience as a builder, seeing integration opportunities as a chance for growth.
  • Experience developing people, ensuring reports stay, grow, and become future leaders.
  • Experience building with current tools, experimenting with new platforms, AI tooling, and operating models.
