About the Role
The Data Scientist III drives internal data analytics projects, ranging from short-term data explorations to long-term implementations of advanced predictive and machine learning models. This role involves applying analytical methods to real-world datasets to solve business problems, influencing the organizational roadmap through data-based recommendations, and communicating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Responsibilities
- Perform time-series analyses, hypothesis testing, and causal analyses to assess impact and extract trends.
- Research and resolve data inquiries and requests.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for department data.
- Document requirements for data science and reporting projects.
- Support the development of standard data analyses, reports, and dashboards.
- Collaborate with teams to gather data and build relationships.
- Transform data into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Design experiments and interpret results to draw actionable conclusions.
- Build statistical models to enhance understanding of trends and predict future performance.
- Identify new opportunities and novel applications for core internal data.
- Translate and champion machine learning and advanced analytics capabilities for non-technical audiences.
- Participate in the end-to-end data science project lifecycle including mining, exploration, development, deployment, and tracking.
- Design, validate, and evaluate solutions using R, Python, SQL, and other programming tools.
- Educate and mentor team members on best practices for data analytics, statistical programming, and data preparation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an analytical field such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or Engineering.
- 5 years of experience working with large databases to perform complex analysis.
- 5 years of experience with statistics and multivariate analytical techniques including regression, cluster analysis, design of experiments, and decision trees.
- Demonstrated expertise building and deploying machine learning/AI models in cloud computing or enterprise IT environments.
- Demonstrated expertise with commercial or operational analytics topics.
- 5 years of experience with advanced programming in Python or R and SQL.
