About the Role
The F&B / Banquet Houseman is responsible for the setup, breakdown, and maintenance of banquet rooms, meeting spaces, restaurant support areas, and food & beverage events. This role ensures events are executed efficiently, safely, and according to Marriott and Blue Sky Hospitality standards. The ideal candidate is dependable, physically active, detail-oriented, and can work in a fast-paced environment supporting multiple events.
Responsibilities
- Set up banquet rooms, meeting spaces, and event venues according to banquet event orders (BEOs).
- Arrange tables, chairs, staging, dance floors, podiums, linens, and other event equipment.
- Ensure room layouts meet client specifications and event requirements.
- Verify meeting rooms are properly equipped and guest-ready prior to event start times.
- Adjust room setups as needed during events.
- Assist banquet staff during meetings, conferences, weddings, social events, and special functions.
- Replenish water stations, coffee service, and event supplies.
- Deliver equipment, supplies, and food service items throughout the property.
- Respond promptly to requests from banquet managers and event teams.
- Break down banquet rooms and meeting spaces following events.
- Remove tables, chairs, linens, equipment, and supplies.
- Prepare rooms for future events according to scheduling requirements.
- Ensure timely room turnover between functions.
- Assist restaurant and banquet teams with operational support.
- Stock service stations and banquet storage areas.
- Transport food service equipment and supplies.
- Assist with buffet setups and banquet service preparation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet storage areas, meeting rooms, and service corridors.
- Ensure equipment is properly stored and maintained.
- Follow all safety procedures when moving furniture and equipment.
- Report maintenance, safety, or equipment concerns immediately.
- Comply with Marriott, Blue Sky Hospitality, and OSHA safety standards.
Requirements
- Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight event setups.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy equipment and furniture.
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and climb stairs.
- Lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Push and pull carts, tables, staging, and banquet equipment.
- Perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift.
- Work indoors and outdoors as business needs require.
