About the Role
This position will work closely with the Lead Product Manager to define and write product features for implementation by the Scrum Team. You will assist in defining high-value extensions and enhancements to PowerSchool’s Administration product portfolio, following the Agile development process. This role involves creating user stories, developing acceptance criteria, and refining the product backlog to drive incremental delivery and value through teams.
Responsibilities
- Improve organizational performance in delivering products by managing cross-functional development scope with Product Managers, Product Owners, and Scrum teams.
- Support the product manager in developing product vision, goals, themes, and features, translating them into a product roadmap and long-term strategy.
- Participate in and help lead daily scrum ceremonies and refinement sessions, guiding the Engineering team's direction and focus.
- Translate product directives into backlog items, representing customer needs and serving as the primary source of external information for Scrum teams.
- Work closely with Development on implementation issues.
- Review QA test plans to ensure alignment with acceptance criteria.
- Review relevant documentation for technical accuracy.
- Communicate product release contents and expected capabilities to stakeholders, including external and internal customers.
- Coordinate products between departments for global visibility.
- Communicate the product vision to technical and other internal teams.
- Ensure correct features are being developed, balancing delivered value against the cost of delivery.
- Provide weekly project status reports to Senior Management.
- Monitor and identify impediments to release objectives and suggest corrective actions.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant and related work experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
- Ability to travel occasionally, up to 10%, for key moments such as team summits, training, customer meetings, and company events, with increased frequency during peak periods based on business demands.
- This position is subject to company on-call policies, which includes working hours outside of the normal workday as needed.
