About the Role
The First Line Leader role is responsible for developing and leading a team of operators to consistently deliver outstanding safety, quality, and service, directly impacting Haleon's strategy and goals by ensuring the business strategy is delivered through an engaged, motivated, and capable team. This role upholds the highest standards in Environment, Health, Safety, and Wellness (EHSW) and Quality.
Responsibilities
- Provide oversight and leadership of a team in a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) production environment.
- Foster an environment that ensures adherence to standards for safety, quality, compliance, and output.
- Continuously improve the capability of the team.
- Engage and inspire staff to understand the value they add.
- Ensure development plans are undertaken regularly using the Haleon approach.
- Set expectations on behavior and performance by providing regular feedback.
- Identify key talent and capabilities and apply to talent planning.
- Manage performance.
- Review area resources, including task assignment, and facilitate recruitment and hiring.
- Role model expected behaviors and standards.
- Set target conditions and deliver against them to achieve performance improvements.
- Identify and resolve issues in real-time with staff.
- Drive problem-solving processes with staff and support functions.
- Understand the budget for the area.
- Ensure adoption and adherence to Leader Standard Work.
- Maintain and interact with Haleon systems (SAP, Pas-X, CH Pack, Workday).
Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a technical area (Preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent with 5 years of relevant experience
- Self-starter with the ability to work with little supervision
- Flexibility to work extended hours and/or off shifts
- Effective communication skills (oral and written) for all organizational levels
- Ability to influence others to achieve results
- Ability to utilize analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience with inventory control software (SAP)
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Ability to take on additional responsibilities in a leadership role
- Knowledge of cGMP requirements
- Experience working in an FDA regulated environment
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to promote collaborative teamwork
- Ability to conduct training sessions
- Practical experience with Quality initiatives including executing validation protocols, deviation reports, root cause analysis, and change control.

Salary/Compensations
- $79,517 to $109,335.60 plus an 8% performance bonus
