About the Role

IMCO is seeking a motivated Associate Portfolio Manager to join its Global Credit team, focusing on public credit. This role involves managing externally managed Public Credit portfolios, including manager selection, due diligence, portfolio strategy, and oversight. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to the enhancement of the Global Credit platform through investment systems, advanced analytics, and AI capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical and portfolio management support to the Managing Director in overseeing externally managed public credit portfolios.
  • Source, screen, and conduct due diligence on external public credit managers across various strategies.
  • Utilize data platforms and AI-enabled tools to analyze performance, identify risks, and support manager screening and evaluation.
  • Lead and support the preparation of investment recommendations, including drafting investment memos and presentations.
  • Assist in structuring and negotiating investment mandates, guidelines, and fee arrangements.
  • Conduct ongoing monitoring of external managers, including performance attribution, risk exposures, and adherence to investment guidelines.
  • Leverage AI to enhance efficiency in analysis, identify performance and risk trends, and support portfolio-level reporting.
  • Lead or contribute to initiatives to enhance portfolio management infrastructure through AI and new investment systems.
  • Partner with internal teams to improve investment data quality for effective analysis and decision-making.
  • Support portfolio construction and strategic asset allocation across public credit.
  • Contribute to capital allocation decisions and shaping overall portfolio strategy.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of global public credit markets and macroeconomic trends.
  • Engage regularly with external managers through diligence meetings, portfolio reviews, and on-site visits.
  • Support client and stakeholder reporting, including quarterly updates and market commentary.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in asset management, with a focus on public credit investing and manager selection and oversight.
  • Experience leveraging data analytics and AI-enabled tools to support investment research, manager evaluation, or portfolio insights.
  • Strong understanding of global public credit markets, including corporate bonds, leveraged loans, structured credit, and credit market dynamics.
  • Experience conducting due diligence on external investment managers.
  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • Candidates being considered for this position will be required to undergo background screening.
