About the Role

Support a research program focused on the equitable and compassionate scaling of AI and digital healthcare innovations. This project aims to understand the perspectives of people with lived and living experience (PWLE) who have partnered on teams responsible for the global spread and scale of AI and digital health innovations. The goal is to identify barriers and enablers to maintaining equitable and compassionate care and co-develop practical strategies to ensure these principles are prioritized throughout the spread and scale process.

Responsibilities

Monitor research activities' progress and deadlines.
Develop and maintain records of research activities.
Establish and maintain operating policies and procedures.
Assist with primary data collection, including co-led participant interviews.
Administer screening questionnaires and surveys.
Prepare, submit, and maintain Research Ethics Board (REB) applications.
Track ethics approvals and complete renewals/amendments.
Proactively identify barriers, threats, and risks for project completion.
Implement quality control processes throughout the study.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of data collection.
Investigate missing or apparently invalid data.
Collaborate on writing and editing presentations, reports, proposals, publications, conference materials, and manuscripts.
Assist with knowledge translation activities.
Perform aspects of research protocol as required, such as participant recruitment and data preparation for analyses.
Act as a role model and champion for safety, integrating best practices into daily activities.

Requirements

Reside and be legally eligible to work in Ontario.
Undergraduate degree in health sciences, public health, or other health-related discipline.
1-2 years of progressive experience working in a research environment and/or academic hospital.
Experience with qualitative data collection, including conducting semi-structured interviews, is strongly preferred.
Experience working with people with lived and living experience is an asset.
Experience with the Research Ethics Board approval process, including submission of initial applications, amendments, and annual renewals.
Strong organizational and time management skills to work efficiently under multiple deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure with strong judgment and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and lead diverse groups of people.
Ability to work independently with a high degree of initiative, discretion, and tact.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Computer competency, including familiarity with MS Word, MS Excel, and NVivo.
Demonstrated record of good performance and acceptable attendance.
Professional behavior and communication meeting regulatory college/association and hospital standards.
Advocate for safety and demonstrate principles, practices, and processes to optimize a safe environment.
