About the Role
The Office of Spread and Scale (OSS) at Women's College Hospital is seeking a Research Assistant II to support the finalization and dissemination of an implementation toolkit focused on health awareness and engagement within Black communities. This role is crucial for advancing the science of implementation and supporting the spread of effective, equitable health interventions.
Responsibilities
- Support final refinement and quality assurance of the implementation toolkit for clarity, usability, and accessibility.
- Conduct qualitative analysis of user testing data to inform toolkit refinements.
- Assist in preparing toolkit materials for dissemination, including formatting, editing, and adapting content.
- Collaborate with project team members to design and implement dissemination strategies.
- Support the planning and coordination of a toolkit launch event.
- Assist with knowledge translation activities, including report and presentation development.
- Prepare, submit, and maintain Research Ethics Board (REB) applications and renewals.
- Proactively identify barriers and risks for project completion.
- Implement quality control processes for data collection and integrity.
- Collaborate on writing and editing presentations, reports, proposals, publications, and manuscripts.
- Perform aspects of research protocol as required, such as participant recruitment and data collection.
- Act as an advocate for safety, integrating best practices into daily activities.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in health sciences, public health, or other health-related discipline.
- 1-2 years of progressive experience working in a research environment and/or academic hospital.
- Experience with qualitative data analysis is strongly preferred.
- Experience with toolkit development is an asset.
- Experience supporting knowledge translation, dissemination activities, or event coordination is an asset.
- Experience with the Research Ethics Board approval process.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with community partners and stakeholders respectfully and collaboratively.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure with strong judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of initiative, discretion, and tact.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Computer competency including MS Word, MS Excel, and NVivo.
- Demonstrated record of good performance and acceptable attendance.
- Professional behavior and communication meeting regulatory and hospital standards.
- Reside and be legally eligible to work in Ontario.
- Completion of a health review and proof of immunity/vaccination status.
