About the Role
The Floor Supervisor oversees daily activities in the distribution area, ensuring staff work safely and meet production, distribution, and fulfillment requirements. This role involves training, coaching, and motivating staff to maintain high morale and productivity, while also managing staffing levels and implementing process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of floor staff, potentially exceeding 50 staff
- Oversee adherence to best practices, quality standards, and health and safety procedures, addressing and documenting concerns
- Support the creation, review, and sign-offs of SOPs as needed
- Onboard and train new or returning staff on daily duties and responsibilities, ensuring safety and SOP guidelines are followed
- Report and document workplace H&S incidents to management, submitting hazard reports and near-misses via 1Life Safety
- Organize, assign, and delegate daily tasks, activities, and workflow to Trainers
- Oversee and monitor the pace of picking, packing, shipping, and receiving
- Foster high motivation through coaching and feedback to team leaders
- Perform regular 1:1s with Trainers and assist Trainers in conducting 1:1s with Distribution Associates
- Escalate significant performance and behavioral issues to the room management team
- Ensure smooth communication between shifts
- Determine and facilitate training requirements for floor staff
- Participate in performance discussions in partnership with room management
- Oversee staff attendance, punctuality, and break periods
- Support payroll entry and timecard verifications
- Communicate with the Talent team regarding seasonal hiring
- Review the shipping schedule/daily orders, deliveries, incoming transfer orders, and pick-ups
- Complete bill of lading documents
- Ensure sales orders are fulfilled efficiently and to a high-quality standard
- Complete and ensure documentation of pre-shift checklists
- Ensure spills are cleaned up and recorded according to material-specific spill response protocols
- Monitor pallet stock and notify management of changes in order frequency
- Monitor stock of and order pallet wrap and shipping supplies
- Support DEIB initiatives and communication
- Host daily huddles and meetings as required
- Lock out equipment and submit work order requests for repairs/maintenance
- Complete daily safety checklists and racking inspections
- Ensure keyholder duties are completed as required
Requirements
- Current Lush employee who has held their current role successfully for one year
- General understanding of in-room operations (routings/metrics, processes, distribution reporting)
- Flexibility to work within Distribution, Digital, and Manufacturing businesses
- Confident with basic mathematics, including counting, addition, and subtraction
- Proven track record in training, coaching, and developing employees
- Knowledge of Employment Standards and Occupational Health and Safety standards
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Reliable, consistent attendance, punctual, and dependable
- Able to provide and receive feedback
- Commitment to abiding by and overseeing health & safety regulations
- Commitment to abiding by and overseeing quality and good manufacturing practices
- Aware of distribution room Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Valid certification on site-specific MHE
- Able to navigate email, MS Office Suite, and Google programs
- Basic proficiency with AX/D365 functions
- Accustomed to working in a highly seasonal, high-pressure environment
- Comfortable with reading, writing, and speaking English
- Experience working in a variety of rooms and departments within Lush
- Previous experience working as a Team Leader or Floor Supervisor
- Capable of performing basic payroll functions
- Advanced proficiency with AX/D365 functions
- Comfortable with presenting and public speaking
- Experience in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, distribution, supply chain, and/or food industries
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment and processes
- Flexible to work mornings, afternoons, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed
- Spill response training (Distro-specific)
