About the Role
As the Employee Meal Cook at our country club, you will prepare delicious and nutritious meals for staff, contributing to a positive work environment. This role requires culinary expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to food safety.
Responsibilities
- Execute diverse and balanced menus for employee meals, considering dietary restrictions, cultural preferences, and seasonal availability.
- Prepare ingredients and cook meals to perfection, ensuring timely delivery.
- Maintain consistent quality and taste of dishes by adhering to established recipes and cooking techniques.
- Focus on the nutritional content of meals, offering balanced and wholesome options with freshly made ingredients.
- Strictly follow all food safety guidelines, including proper storage, handling, and preparation of ingredients.
- Keep the kitchen clean and organized, adhering to sanitation standards.
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies, ensuring efficient utilization and coordinating restocking.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and communicate effectively for meal execution.
- Work with the culinary leadership team to manage food costs effectively, minimizing waste.
- Seek feedback to improve and innovate employee meal offerings.
- Comply with all safety regulations and country club policies, participating in safety training.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Cook in a professional kitchen setting.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Understanding of nutrition and the ability to create balanced, healthy meals.
- Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely meal delivery.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A positive attitude and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.
- Ability to perform physical demands including sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, pushing, pulling, holding, twisting, reaching, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting at least fifty pounds.
- Ability to stand for long periods in a hot, humid, and loud environment.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
