About the Role

Equinix is seeking a Senior Director, Banking, Financial Services & Insurance (BFSI) Vertical Sales, APAC, accountable for the company’s BFSI commercial strategy and revenue performance in the Asia Pacific region. This role involves defining how Equinix engages, wins, and expands within the BFSI ecosystem, acting as a principal voice in regional strategy and an executive-level presence with customers and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Vertical: Accountable for the APAC BFSI vertical strategy, including go-to-market model, territory plans, account roadmaps, and pipeline frameworks.
  • Deliver Predictable Growth: Drive disciplined revenue execution, maintain rigorous forecasting, pipeline hygiene, and quota attainment.
  • Champion Solution Selling: Elevate the team’s commercial capability by embedding sophisticated solution-selling methodologies.
  • Build & Develop Talent: Recruit, coach, and inspire a high-performing industry vertical sales team.
  • Serve as the senior commercial lead for strategic BFSI opportunities across APAC.
  • Establish and deepen executive-level relationships with leading financial institutions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customer leadership, translating industry knowledge into compelling business cases.
  • Operate as a principal voice on the APAC Sales leadership team, contributing to regional strategy and prioritization.
  • Drive strategic alignment across Product, Marketing, Solutions Architecture, Channel & Alliances, and Country Sales teams.
  • Provide APAC executive leadership with authoritative perspectives on BFSI market trends and demands.
  • Represent Equinix externally at senior industry forums and C-suite customer events.
  • Establish clear performance standards for sales effectiveness and revenue outcomes.
  • Continuously refine sales processes, playbooks, and engagement models.
  • Foster a culture of operational discipline and innovation within the team.

Requirements

  • Proven BFSI Sales Leadership with a demonstrable track record of senior sales leadership success within financial services technology, data centre, connectivity, or cloud infrastructure environments.
  • Consistent delivery against multi-million dollar regional revenue targets.
  • Deep expertise in engaging and influencing C-suite and senior technology/operations stakeholders within banks, capital markets firms, insurers, or fintecs.
  • Credibility to advise on digital infrastructure, cloud connectivity, regulatory strategy, and AI infrastructure demands.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute multi-market strategies in complex, matrixed organisations.
  • Proven executive influencer capable of shaping priorities, mobilising resources, and driving decisions in complex, matrixed organisations.
  • Strong grasp of the regulatory, operational, and technology priorities shaping financial services across key APAC markets.
  • Experience leading, coaching, and scaling high-performing sales teams.
  • A philosophy grounded in developing talent, fostering psychological safety, and sustaining performance.
