About the Role
Seeking an experienced paralegal/legal assistant to join the health department.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate attorney schedules
- Perform case management and file review
- Draft various legal documents and correspondence
- Prepare cases for deposition and trial
- Manage discovery and trial schedules
- Review, organize, and Bates stamp medical records
- Undertake other duties and special projects as assigned
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a civil and commercial paralegal/legal assistant
- Experience drafting legal documents, such as pleadings and discovery demands
- Experience preparing for trials, including drafting and overseeing service of subpoenas
- Willingness to learn additional areas of specialized litigation practice
- Ability to organize and review medical records for discovery
- Experience with commercial real estate transactions
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with e-filing documents with local and Federal Courts
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Organized with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to work independently and follow direction
