About the Role
McGard is seeking a highly talented and motivated Production Lead Assistant to join our dynamic team and contribute to our ongoing success in the automotive industry.
Responsibilities
- Directs subordinate personnel in the task of inspection, assembly, or packaging of parts when the Lead is unavailable.
- Ensures the achievement of continuous improvement within area of expertise and business areas to remain at the forefront of meeting Company objectives.
- Completes and maintains all required safety classes, trainings, and certifications.
- Is aware of the relevance and importance of their activities and how they contribute to quality objectives.
- Works regularly scheduled shifts, with the ability to work overtime and weekends.
- Complies with related IATF/ISO procedures, as applicable.
- Supports the Lead in ensuring subordinates' work aligns with specific Work Instructions, Production Work Orders, and instructional manuals.
- Utilizes the computer to access/print supporting documentation and for production inquiries.
- Coordinates the removal of non-conforming components from the department.
- Enforces the use of personal protective equipment and safety procedures.
- Assists in the training and educating of coworkers.
- Uses department email to communicate with other departments.
- Develops and monitors departmental metrics to ensure production and production efficiency.
- Addresses quality issues generated in the Area of Responsibility (AOR) and coordinates corrective action.
- Performs production duties as needed.
- Communicates production concerns, equipment issues, material shortages, and quality concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Supports shift handoff activities by communicating production status, priorities, and unresolved issues.
- Promotes a positive team environment through effective communication, leadership by example, and employee engagement.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.
- Ability to utilize computer systems to access production data, reports, work instructions, and other supporting documentation.
- Must be capable of traveling and working throughout the entire facility, within reasonable accommodation.
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Experience Level
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
- Previous lead, trainer, or supervisory experience required.
Education Level
- High school diploma or General education degree (GED).
- Associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
Salary/Compensations
- $20-25/hr (10% shift differential for 2nd shift)
