About the Role

This role involves intellectually challenging work in a collaborative environment focused on innovation. You will develop policy through code and rule changes, assess regulated company compliance, address market participant complaints, and liaise with industry stakeholders to identify and respond to emerging concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct policy research and evaluate the implications of policy options on the sector
  • Prepare documentation to solicit stakeholder feedback
  • Develop policy options by leading stakeholder consultations and directing project teams
  • Address industry complaints regarding regulatory compliance to ensure consumer protection and market oversight
  • Monitor the energy and regulatory policy environment to identify industry trends and emerging issues
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, commissions, and industry associations
  • Develop expertise in regulations and codes governing the electricity sector
  • Provide guidance to stakeholders and internal staff regarding sector-specific codes such as the Distribution System Code

Requirements

  • Experience in the electricity sector
  • 5+ years of experience working in a regulated industry or public utility
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to a variety of situations and work effectively with diverse groups
