About the Role

This role directs an organization's financial policies and oversees financial functions such as accounting, budget, credit, insurance, tax, and treasury. It requires extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, and involves leading and directing the work of others with a significant degree of creativity and latitude.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a project to eliminate historic intercompany balances within the organization, except those required for regulatory, funding, or other overarching commercial requirements.
  • Develop a process and policy for documenting and settling/offsetting intercompany balances.
  • Lead a project team from different disciplines, both within and outside the finance organization, to obtain necessary data and execute transactions.
  • Travel on occasion to Houston, Tx, US or other locations to work with local accounting teams and provide updates to senior finance leadership.

Requirements

  • University degree or recognized equivalent.
  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in financial management.
  • Experience managing and delivering complex, cross-functional, international projects.
  • ICAEW or equivalent affiliation preferred.
  • Extensive accounting experience in an international environment with experience in a senior financial management position.
  • Excellent managerial skills in team development, organization, negotiation, relationship building, planning, and implementation.
  • Highly developed analytical, supervisory, and interpersonal skills.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of computerized accounting systems, preferably Oracle.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely to various levels of management.
  • Familiarity with foreign taxation and foreign exchange issues.
  • Obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Management System.
