About the Role
The Regional Growth Leader (RGL) is a key member of the Infrastructure growth leadership team, responsible for overseeing market growth and development. This includes strategic planning, expansion into new markets, developing key accounts, supporting corporate initiatives, and fostering regional strategy collaboration. The RGL identifies and develops key clients and opportunities, aligning the efforts of Sector Leaders, Business Center Practice Leaders, and Account Managers to drive revenue growth through strategic initiatives, client capture, and service expansion.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and be accountable for top-line activities within the region.
- Strengthen market position through organic and acquisitive growth strategies and transformative initiatives.
- Develop strong relationships and portfolios with key clients and major accounts.
- Support and develop the region’s growth contributions to the company’s key corporate campaign initiatives.
- Engage across the region, its projects, and the industry as a brand ambassador.
- Collaborate closely with the Regional Business Leader (RBL) to drive top-line growth and manage a profitable regional business.
- Develop and execute acquisitive and organic growth strategies for the region in collaboration with RBLs, SLs, BCPLs, and account managers.
- Stay informed about market drivers, megatrends, campaigns, regional politics, regulatory challenges, and economic indicators, sharing relevant knowledge.
- Connect internal resources (subject matter experts, project and technical leads, pursuit resources) to leverage Stantec’s engagement and optimize capture chances.
- Promote collaboration between BLs, RBLs, SLs, BCPLs, BCOLs, AMs, and Principals, focusing on cross-selling to win new work.
- Have oversight and accountability for top-line and key performance metrics including sales performance, ROI, capture rate, and pipeline data integrity.
- Lead and develop a team of BCPL professionals, setting expectations and accountability for team performance.
- Lead or participate in go/no-go decisions and pursuit budget discussions for large or strategic pursuits.
- Lead the identification and support of the regional Top 20 strategic pursuits, monitoring activities, budgets, and strategy alignment.
- Coordinate with sector leaders to connect subject matter experts, identify regional resource needs, pursue opportunities, and support key sector pursuits.
- Be accountable for regional MBD and net revenue results in partnership with the RBL.
- Manage the regional MBD budget, prioritizing conference and tradeshow investments.
- Support the development of technical proposals for strategic pursuits.
- Measure, monitor, and promote data accuracy in Pipeline with BCPLs and account managers.
- Contribute to accurate Net Revenue Forecasts for the region.
- Be personally involved in key client relationships, strategic project pursuits, major project leadership, and support delivery.
- Help develop strong relationships and portfolios with key clients in the region.
- Act as an Account Sponsor for key client accounts as appropriate.
- Identify regional opportunities, understand local client drivers, and work with local governments to create opportunities.
- Identify potential areas for investment within regions for new revenue growth at the BOU or Corporate level.
- Identify SGIs that offer significant growth opportunities for Infrastructure and connect leaders to unite strategy, resources, and clients.
- Outline the potential of each SGI opportunity and regional participation goals.
- Identify and pursue potential acquisitions, group hires, bundled hires, and strategic hires to achieve growth targets and diversification.
- Act as a highly regarded leader, thought partner, and source of counsel and advice.
- Identify emerging leaders for growth and advancement.
- Assist in the recruitment of talent with strong knowledge of growth trends.
- Engage in and support resource management, career development, engagement, succession planning, coaching, mentoring, and leadership development.
- Take a proactive role in furthering the brand position and leading staff to demonstrate excellence and thought leadership.
- Contribute to the annual business plan and budget, outlining vision, focus, priorities, and specific goals.
- Be considerate of the bottom line when setting rates to achieve target margins.
- Partner with BCPLs, BCOLs, and RBLs to support budget preparation with direct responsibility for revenue growth.
- Collaborate with RBLs to support the development and implementation of improvement plans for underperforming operations.
- Participate on the Infrastructure Leadership Team and collaborate with leadership in improving pursuit strategies.
- Position the Stantec Infrastructure practice platform as a preferred employer for staff recruitment and retention.
- Build relationships with other Stantec Business Lines and Sectors to foster cross-pollination of work and capitalize on new business opportunities.

- Must be located in one of the Stantec offices in the respective geography the RGL will support.
