About the Role

WHAM has an immediate opening for a creative News Producer responsible for the day-to-day production of newscasts, working closely with the Executive Producer, Director, Assignment Desk, and Anchors. This role determines newscast content and flow, generates and writes stories, and develops content for the company website.

• Work with management and on-air staff to generate and write stories

Requirements

• Solid news judgment
• Compelling and accurate writing ability
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to execute news strategies and goals in daily newscasts
• Flexibility and on-the-spot problem-solving abilities
• Proficient with non-linear editing (e.g., Avid)
• Proficient with newsroom systems (e.g., iNews)
• At least some previous news producing experience at a commercial TV station
• Right entry-level candidate may be considered
