About the Role
The Senior Investment Manager will lead day-to-day investment activity in Australia, reporting to the Investment Director of APAC. This role is central to coordinating Eku Energy's teams, leading investment analysis for opportunity selection and prioritization, assessing return maximization on deployed equity capital, and driving final investment decisions in Australia.
Responsibilities
- Formulate recommendations to the Managing Director and Investment Director on equity capital allocation during development.
- Recommend final investment decisions.
- Communicate capital allocation decisions through a risk and return framework.
- Actively contribute to managing project risks, including back-to-back risk positions in revenue and EPC and O&M arrangements.
- Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders including advisers, due diligence providers, lenders, capital providers, government, and regulatory bodies.
- Develop and execute the equity and debt funding plan for Australia to maximize company value, considering equity sell-downs, funding partnerships, and acquisitions/divestments.
- Monitor and measure returns in real-time on development expenditure and equity investments to enable rapid decision-making.
- Facilitate clear communication to ensure all teams are aware of priorities and how they maximize company value.
- Make key judgments on transactions and ensure effective transaction execution.
- Be responsible for opportunity selection and origination strategies (organic projects, acquisitions, partnerships).
- Set project priorities and resource allocation to maximize value.
Requirements
- 8-10 years of relevant investment experience is a must.
- Ability to work globally with time zones in the UK, Europe, Australia, and Japan.
- Action-oriented and outcomes-driven.
