About the Role
Stantec's New York City office is seeking a Structural Engineer to support engineering teams on large infrastructure design projects and pursuits in the New York City Metropolitan area. The engineer will work under direct supervision of a Design Manager or Senior Structural Engineer to assist on design and management of infrastructure projects and public spaces. Responsibilities
- Develop project design deliverables including design criteria, contract design documents, design specifications, quantities and related calculations for various design projects under Design/Build and DesigAn/Bid/Build environments.
- Perform calculations independently using relevant analysis and design software.
- Conducts basic interpretations of drawings, codes, and other similar materials.
- Help resolve complex technical problems and exercise independent decision making.
- Perform construction phase services on behalf of the Designer of Record.
- Mentor and monitor work by Structural Designers.
- Performs field work as directed by a senior engineer/designer.
- Assists with engineering duties on projects of various complexity.
- Attends and assists in client/contractor/stakeholder meetings to gain a better understanding of client’s goals.
