About the Role

Maintains, repairs, and modifies aircraft structures and components, including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical systems. Applies technical knowledge to diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions, interpreting technical documentation like blueprints and manuals. Performs daily, flight line, and hangar maintenance, inspections, corrosion control, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair, and modify aircraft structures and structural components.
  • Maintain and repair aircraft components including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
  • Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions.
  • Restore equipment condition and/or operation.
  • Solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufacturers’ manuals.
  • Perform daily, flight line and hangar maintenance on all assigned aircraft.
  • Perform inspections, corrosion control, troubleshooting and fault isolation on aircraft systems.
  • Furnish own hand tools to perform maintenance of aircraft.
  • May occasionally lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks.
  • May be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records.
  • Prioritize workload schedules on assigned projects.

Requirements

  • Must possess and maintain a valid State driver’s license.
  • Must be willing to subject themselves to random drug tests.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a CBP Background Investigation Suitability clearance.
  • US Citizenship is required to obtain the clearance.
  • Must be competent and knowledgeable in the repair and maintenance of both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft and aircraft systems to include airframes, structural, hydraulics, fuel and electrical systems, and aircraft engines.
  • Must be competent and knowledgeable in system troubleshooting, reading and interpretation of schematics, blueprints, technical manuals and FAA, Company, and other Directives.
  • Must be reliable and demonstrate good judgment.
  • Able to follow base, federal and Company procedures for handling and disposal of hazardous waste materials.
  • Ability to meet required deadlines and maintain necessary workflow.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in the English language and follow both verbal and written instruction.
  • The ability to comprehend/interpret technical data.
  • Be physically able to perform aircraft mechanic duties.
  • Ability to move freely about the interior and meet aircraft specific specs for weight limit.
  • Stand, squat, sit, walk, work with arms overhead for extended periods of time.
  • May be required to wear a respirator.
  • Pull, push, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Individuals may also be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail, thus requiring the use of adequate ear protection.
