About the Role
This role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements, with a focus on Spanish-speaking clients and markets. You will serve as a legal partner to commercial, operational, and corporate teams, ensuring compliance, mitigating risk, and supporting business growth within a collaborative legal team.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage the drafting, review, and negotiation of commercial contracts including sale and purchase agreements, brokerage agreements, NDAs, and service agreements
- Support and develop legal templates and contract frameworks, with a focus on Spanish-speaking markets and Spanish-language documentation
- Act as the main legal point of contact for the Spanish-speaking desk and support cross-border transactions
- Provide legal guidance to commercial, operational, marketing, and people teams on matters including data protection, labor law, and corporate compliance
- Ensure regulatory compliance and support risk mitigation across EU and US renewable energy and climate commodity markets
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to environmental commodity trading (e.g. GoOs, RECs, Biomethane, Bio-LNG, Carbon markets)
- Collaborate closely with commercial teams to structure transactions in a way that balances legal risk and business objectives
- Contribute to key legal or cross-functional projects (e.g. platform initiatives, data protection programs, internal training/workshops)
- Improve legal processes and contract workflows to increase efficiency and scalability across the business
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a commercial legal role, ideally in a law firm or in-house environment
- Native-level Spanish is required
- Strong English is essential
- German is a plus
- Strong knowledge of contract law, commercial law, and corporate legal matters
- Proven experience in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements with external stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple contracts and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of commercial realities and ability to balance legal risk with business needs
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Familiarity with data protection and regulatory compliance is an advantage
- Interest in renewable energy markets and climate commodities is highly valued
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
