About the Role

As the face and first point of contact for the building, the Corporate Receptionist will deliver five-star front-of-house service, maintaining the utmost standards. This role involves working closely with Day Security and Building Management, supporting administrative communications, and actively engaging in social responsibilities like managing the building app and leading social events.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership and accountability of the reception and associated areas, ensuring they are kept in the best possible order.
  • Liaise with cleaners, facilities, security, and other departments as necessary.
  • Provide support to building management.
  • Ensure the St James folder, manual, occupiers’ procedures, and phone database are up to date.
  • Deliver weekly reports and appropriate FOH data.
  • Assist, support, and build strong relationships with all tenants.
  • Create and lead on social engagement initiatives, including the building app, digital newsletter, events calendar, pop-ups, and freebies.
  • React and assist the client with unforeseen circumstances at short notice.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for all guests, visitors, occupiers, and clients, addressing all questions and queries.
  • Meet and greet all guests and visitors, providing exceptional service and standing to greet as a basic standard.
  • Receive and answer calls promptly and efficiently, identifying caller requirements and taking messages.
  • Manage difficult or distressed callers calmly and professionally.
  • Report accidents or incidents where appropriate.
  • Ensure the reception area is kept organised, clean, and tidy at all times.
  • Adhere to St James policies and procedures, code of conduct, and emergency procedures related to Health & Safety.
  • Perform any other duties necessary to support the client, customer, colleagues, and St James.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Confident in using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Canva, and Outlook).
  • Experience in building apps is ideal.
  • Good interpersonal skills, flexible to work with a range of styles and personalities.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Professional telephone and email etiquette.
  • A team player keen to learn and help.
  • Genuine enjoyment of front-of-house work and ownership of the role.
  • Excellent attendance and timekeeping are vital.
