About the Role
We are looking for brilliant engineers to join our team at Magentic, pushing the boundaries of AI with next-generation agentic systems for supply chains and procurement. Our mission is to make global manufacturing supply chains robust and harness generative AI through thoughtful, ethical, and safe deployment. You will own full-stack features end-to-end, focusing on enterprise data requirements, collaborating with customer teams to architect data pipelines and APIs, and fueling our AI with real-world data. This is an AI-first company at the forefront of agentic systems where you will shape solutions and grow your AI skills.
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, performant backend services and data pipelines using Python, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Integrate with enterprise ecosystems, including SAP, Oracle ERP, GraphQL/REST APIs, SFTP feeds, and event buses (Kafka, Pulsar).
- Model, transform, and index multi-modal, multi-terabyte enterprise datasets for advanced workloads.
- Develop enterprise-level next-generation AI systems with support from AI specialists.
- Ship complete customer features, including architecture, code, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), rollout, and user training.
- Collaborate with executives and operators, run white-boarding sessions, define specifications, demo weekly, and iterate quickly.
- Champion observability and reliability by instrumenting services with OpenTelemetry, defining SLIs/SLOs, and automating incident response.
- Contribute across the stack, building front-ends when necessary and pairing with ML engineers on inference and evaluation pipelines.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Fluent in Python and comfortable in TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Experience building and operating data-intensive systems (batch & streaming) in a cloud environment (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Proficiency with relational, columnar, and KV/graph databases and their appropriate use cases.
- Experience integrating with real-world enterprise stacks, including authentication, SSO, legacy ERPs, message queues, and ETL tools.
- Ability to take a loosely defined problem, sketch an architecture, and deliver a production-ready solution rapidly.
- Clear communication skills with both engineers and business stakeholders.
- Thrive in an early-stage, high-ownership environment with rapid prototyping and deployment cycles.
