About the Role

This role focuses on drafting and managing Asia Pacific Financial Solutions (APFS) documents, which include complex actuarial, accounting, and legal provisions to meet business needs. Responsibilities include document management, coordinating reviews, maintaining version control, and securing timely approvals before execution.

Responsibilities

• Manages the writing, executing, and distributing of regional Asia Pacific Financial Solutions (APFS) reinsurance transaction documents that embody client and RGA business objectives.
• Drafts legal documents, ensuring accuracy, professionalism, and adherence to Asia Pacific Financial Solutions (APFS) and RGA standards.
• Manages efficient version control during review and negotiation.
• Partners with corporate partners and SMEs to draft language addressing specific business or legal needs or for compliance with applicable insurance laws and regulations.
• Ensures comments from internal RGA associates and clients are monitored and incorporated into documents for further review.
• Coordinates the review of draft legal documents to ensure organization and that appropriate draft versions are reviewed effectively.
• Manages internal processes by ensuring documents are correctly reviewed and approved before execution.
• Manages the document execution process by obtaining signatures on finalized legal documents on time and supporting necessary requirements for execution.
• Maintains an appropriate archive of all Asia Pacific Financial Solutions (APFS) legal documents.
• Implements continuous improvements to Asia Pacific Financial Solutions (APFS) processes and legal documents.
• Assists in the preparation of post-execution matters as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of contract, legal, or treaty experience.
• Candidates with less experience in legal or contract drafting are also welcomed to apply.
• Good English skills (including contract drafting) are required.
• Understanding of reinsurance and insurance regulation.
• Legal background; drive to deliver high-quality contract drafting and management.
• An understanding of reinsurance and insurance regulation will be an advantage.
• Exceptional written communication and organizational skills.
• Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a high-pressure work environment.
• Able to efficiently liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines.
• Customer service focus.
• Meticulous attention to detail with a results-driven, continuous-improvement mindset.
