About the Role

As an expert in commodities and energy, you will be in charge of commodities data solutions in various business/customer segments, including decarbonisation, power & energy, shipping, soft commodities, and metals. You will focus on sales (new, cross-sells, up-sells) of Commodity Solutions to key clients in Japan, working in close partnership with internal stakeholders to proactively drive gross sales and revenue. You will engage with C-suite customers, primarily in financial institutions and trading companies.

Responsibilities

  • Structure, negotiate, and close deals in the Commodities segment.
  • Proactively identify and build pipeline opportunities.
  • Develop the sales strategy for the Commodities business within their territory.
  • Build valuable connections within the client organization to facilitate introductions and unlock opportunities.
  • Conduct high-efficiency, high-output prospecting and collaborate with lead-gen, account management, and other colleagues.
  • Advance opportunities through sales stages, exceeding close rate expectations.
  • Provide insights and share LSEG Commodities thought leadership with customers.
  • Deliver customer demonstrations of LSEG Workspace, LSEG Point Connect, and LSEG Data Management System (LDMS).
  • Deliver monthly sales targets.
  • Handle administrative requests such as proposals, benchmark calculators, and Salesforce-related tasks.

Requirements

  • Commodities market understanding.
  • 3-5 years of industry experience.
  • World-class selling skills (identify, develop, articulate proposition/consultative selling) as a hunter.
  • Strong sales closing ability.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills (verbal & written).
  • Proven track record in a quota-bearing sales environment.
  • Experience selling to C-level executives.
