About the Role
The Associate Director, Corporate Planning will work closely with the senior management team in Japan to enable the execution of branch-wide priorities. This role is ideal for a high-performing, strategic professional with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills who is eager to contribute to broad business initiatives and gain exposure to branch-level decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts, strategic planning activities, and branch-wide tracking and coordination of key projects and initiatives.
- Directly execute assigned branch initiatives.
- Provide strategic support and branch coordination to the senior management team in Japan.
- Prepare briefing materials, meeting agendas, and strategic updates for stakeholder forums.
- Build and nurture relationships with cross-functional associates across the organization.
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of assigned projects/initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather inputs, monitor progress, and identify risks.
- Assist in preparing project dashboards, status reports, and executive summaries.
- Help design and maintain operating rhythms, including meetings, planning cycles, and governance routines.
- Support change initiatives through structured communication and coordination.
- Conduct targeted research and analysis to support business origination.
- Assist in developing business cases and structured analyses.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) required.
- Minimum 10+ years relevant experience in strategy, consulting, PMO, project management or business operations.
- Native Japanese language skills required.
- Professional to fluent English (verbal and written) required.
- Experience working on cross-functional initiatives in a corporate or matrix environment.
- Experience in financial services sector, re/insurance industry knowledge would be an added advantage.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience preparing presentations and reports.
- Skilled in managing timelines, tracking deliverables, and supporting cross-functional teams.
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on process improvement and execution excellence.
- Advanced proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Experience managing SharePoint and internal content platforms.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI) is a plus.
