About the Role
The Client Operations Team works closely with Client Management to provide exceptional operational servicing, enabling Client Management to focus on relationship management and business development. This role is based in Sydney and covers APAC clients, facilitating in-person collaboration with Client Account Managers for the Australian client channel.
Responsibilities
- Attend meetings with Clients, Account Managers, Account Associates and Transition team members to understand and document client requirements for new separately managed account setups, custodian transitions, in kind transfer events, investment benchmark changes, new market openings, trading counterparty changes and separately managed account terminations.
- Act as a central point of coordination across PIMCO teams involved with portfolio events and providing the client with a central point of contact to manage queries.
- Perform ongoing tracking of portfolio events and managing any delays or complexities with internal PIMCO teams to ensure client expectations are managed for any changes to terms or timelines for portfolio events.
- Perform the post portfolio implementation oversight to track and resolve any implementation issues.
- Manage and coordinate requests from internal PIMCO portfolio managers or trade floor teams for the addition of new markets, new trading counterparties / clearers, and new securities.
- Coordinate post event summary sessions with stakeholders across the business to document any learning or development opportunities to improve future portfolio events.
- Respond to operational queries from clients or client account managers / account associates to identify the teams able to best collect relevant information and respond with a high level of detail that resolves the query and provides a high level of client service.
- Manage ongoing relationships with custodians that clients appoint for their SMAs.
- Ensure best practice and consistent operating models are in place between PIMCO as investment manager and the clients 3rd party custodian.
- Foster a strong working relationship with custodians to solve any problematic processes and have a cross-client understanding of how key global custodians service clients.
- Coordinate the collection of internal team responses to client operational due diligence questionnaires and facilitating / attending client operational due diligence review sessions.
- Execute other operational tasks and processes on a day-to-day basis as required.
Requirements
- Strong background in portfolio event management (transitions).
- Proven track record in managing complex projects and client interactions.
- Prior experience in portfolio transitions, client reporting, portfolio valuations, cash flow management and market claims preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt communication style to different internal and external audiences.
- Previous experience in client relationship management and project management would be advantageous.
- Ability to learn and master new concepts and processes quickly.
- Inquisitive nature to learn and build on knowledge base.
- Strong analytic approach and problem-solving skills required.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work autonomously and proactively.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and experience in facilitating regulatory requests.
- Continuously developing operational skills and striving to become a subject matter expert.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects and client outreaches under tight deadlines, with exceptional attention to detail.

- Intermediate Excel skills.
- Coding skills would be a plus.
