About the Role
This role is responsible for shaping market strategy execution, customer engagement, and opportunity prioritisation within the engineering and professional services portfolio. It involves leading market development, building strategic customer relationships, shaping demand, and owning opportunity prioritisation to ensure alignment with business strategy and drive sustainable growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead market development activities by identifying, assessing and prioritising opportunities across external customers and internal sectors
- Build and manage a portfolio of strategic customer relationships, acting as a key interface for engagement and insight
- Shape and qualify demand, ensuring opportunities align with business strategy, capability and risk appetite
- Own the prioritisation of opportunities, ensuring clear scope, value proposition and customer intent
- Provide market and customer intelligence to inform business strategy and investment decisions
- Ensure work-winning alignment, including marketing, business development and tendering inputs
- Ensure disciplined handover of opportunities into delivery, maintaining alignment on commitments and expectations
Requirements
- Significant experience in strategy development and execution, market development, customer management or commercial leadership within engineering, infrastructure or professional services
- Proven ability to manage senior customer relationships and influence long-term strategic outcomes
- Strong understanding of market dynamics, procurement environments and customer decision drivers
- Experience shaping and prioritising opportunities in line with strategy and delivery capability
- Demonstrated experience in work-winning environments, including bid shaping and tender processes
- Proven leadership skills, able to oversee a team and ensure high-quality outcomes across multiple work fronts
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate without direct authority
