About the Role

Medtronic's Neuroscience portfolio, specifically the Cranial & Spinal Technologies (CST) operating unit, is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with neurological disorders, spine conditions, and chronic pain by developing advanced surgical care technologies. The Regional Capital Sales Representative will manage sales activities and strategies for Navigation, Imaging, and Robotic systems within an assigned region, requiring expert clinical knowledge and strong solution selling skills to meet sales objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the complex sales process for new hospitals and additional system sales within existing hospitals.
  • Build clinical and administrative support through technical presentations, executive meetings, marketing events, laboratory sessions, and system test drives.
  • Identify key institutions, generate market awareness, and drive sales within an assigned sales territory.
  • Effectively manage the transition of initial sales and installations to the clinical sales team to drive procedural volume and rapid adoption.
  • Achieve quarterly sales targets.
  • Work with the Director of Capital Sales to develop a quarterly/yearly sales plan.
  • Build surgical advocacy teams at each hospital.
  • Develop initial contact and relationship with CEO and senior hospital administrators.
  • Organize and manage the sales process.
  • Develop expert-level knowledge of primary spine/neuro procedures.
  • Articulate the hospital, surgeon, and patient value propositions.
  • Articulate the ROI program at an executive level.
  • Resolve contractual issues and coordinate system installation upon purchase approval.
  • Handle all communications and administrative follow-up.

Requirements

  • Must reside within the territory.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must have active vehicle insurance policy.
  • Driving record will be reviewed and considered as part of the application.
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
  • Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of people and personalities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Regularly required to be independently mobile.
  • Required to interact with a computer for extended periods of time, and communicate with peers and co-workers.

  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to carry products.
  • Approximately 50% overnight travel will be required via reps driving throughout territory; air travel when required.
  • Requires the incumbent to maintain and transport demonstration equipment to customers’ premises as required.
  • 30% physical handling of this equipment is therefore integral to the position.
  • Going into a healthcare setting is considered an essential function of the job and employees are expected to comply with all credentialing requirements at the hospitals or clinics they support.
  • Candidates must possess unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment for roles below Principal level.
