About the Role
The CAD Designer (Freelance) at Danny Wimmer Presents drafts 2D floor plans and 3D renders for large-scale music festivals and special events, supporting various teams in bringing design concepts to life.
Responsibilities
- Draft 2D floor plans and render 3D models for all components of live events, including venue layouts, attractions, perimeter areas, premium areas, retail stores, stages, and sponsorship activations.
- Meet project timelines and lead stakeholder communications.
- Document material lists for equipment orders and cost estimates, communicate updates, and distribute files.
- Ensure accuracy of digital drawings by auditing against physical measurements.
- Partner with internal departments and external consultants to support permitting and life safety planning.
- Update existing drawings post-event to reflect "as built" conditions.
- Strive for efficient designs that yield cost-saving opportunities.
- Build and maintain a library of standard templates and symbols.
Requirements
- Extensive working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD software and technical proficiency in CAD design.
- 5+ years of experience with increasing scope, responsibility, and complexity in live events or similar fields.
- A mix of creative, operational, and technical skills and interests.
- A mindset of continuous improvement.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities with numerous stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong time management skills.
