About the Role

Ghost Robotics is seeking a Quality Software Engineer to build and maintain software and test infrastructure to ensure hardware and firmware reliability. This role involves developing PCBA screening programs, sub-system test apparatus, automated QMS record-keeping, and regression testing for firmware and software releases.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and document automated testing tools including Brushless EtherCAT and cable testing software.
  • Train personnel on the use of automated testing tools.
  • Automate record-keeping for QC procedures and non-conformance reporting within the QMS.
  • Develop and maintain a regression testing program for firmware releases.
  • Develop and maintain screening programs for printed circuit board assemblies.
  • Collaborate across departments to align QMS procedures with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Work with electronics, firmware, and systems teams to ensure test coverage reflects hardware behavior.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Strong software development background.
  • Hands-on experience integrating software with electromechanical hardware.
  • Experience building or maintaining automated test infrastructure such as CI/CD pipelines or hardware-in-the-loop testing.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills across software and hardware boundaries.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux environments.
  • Proficiency in software engineering best practices including version control and CI/CD.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to document tools and train others.
  • Permanent Residency required.
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds.
  • Clear standard background checks.
