About the Role

CHANEL is seeking a Senior Manager, Salesforce Marketing Cloud Technical Architect to join the TECH CRM team in New York City. This role is crucial for overseeing the SF Marketing platform and supporting the broader Marketing Technology ecosystem. Responsibilities include setting technical standards, ensuring release quality, and guiding integration and data design. The goal is to reduce repeat incidents, streamline campaign builds, and enable secure data integration, ultimately decreasing support tickets.

Responsibilities

  • Design robust Marketing Cloud architecture, including data models and automation frameworks.
  • Influence platform configurations, custom development, and integration patterns.
  • Provide technical oversight of Salesforce Marketing Cloud connectivity with CRM, client engagement channels, and personalization platforms.
  • Develop APIs, data connectors, and middleware for real-time data flow.
  • Build and refine advanced automations using Automation Studio and Journey Builder, leveraging scripting.
  • Lead the technical integration of dynamic content, segmentation, and personalization logic.
  • Model client data, orchestrate ETL processes, and define data extension strategies.
  • Maintain data hygiene, security, and compliance across all integrated systems.
  • Establish and enforce best practices in coding, documentation, and platform management.
  • Guide and train developers, administrators, and marketers on SFMC capabilities.
  • Act as the technical bridge between business stakeholders, Tech, and Salesforce support.
  • Document and explain data models.
  • Develop and share reusable query templates, dashboards, and reports.
  • Implement and enforce stringent data privacy standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Extract, transform, and analyze large datasets using SQL in BigQuery.
  • Build and maintain Looker dashboards and visualizations.
  • Generate detailed, technical solutions to support data-driven decision-making.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of hands-on technical architecture experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and other leading marketing automation platforms.
  • In-depth understanding of marketing data processing, including data segmentation, transformation, and audience management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, generate insights, and optimize marketing campaigns.
  • Proficient with data integration tools and processes for connecting Salesforce Marketing Cloud to other systems.
  • Experience with API integrations, ETL processes, and third-party data connectors.
  • Working knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., CCPA, GDPR) and best practices in managing customer data securely.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, resolve data issues, and ensure data quality within marketing technology environments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to communicate with technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Salesforce Marketing Cloud expertise.

Salary/Compensations

  • $87,500-$190,000
