About the Role

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for marketing, social media, online e-marketing, public relations, and promotions for AEG Presents and Goldenvoice festivals. This position will develop promotional initiatives with artists and the community to promote a positive brand image and sell tickets. The Marketing Coordinator may also be responsible for coordinating the work of street teams for show promotions.

Responsibilities

  • Builds and maintains ad plans for festivals.
  • Assists in coordination of media buying.
  • Creates work orders for radio, television and manages flyer distributions.
  • Evaluates and revises plans as necessary to increase ticketing revenue and event exposure.
  • Creates, previews, and reviews press releases as needed.
  • Coordinates the distribution of press requests with the publicist.
  • Serves as a public relations liaison.
  • Adds new shows, schedules releases, and updates information as needed.
  • Monitors marketing trends regionally and with artists, and implements new marketing strategies and campaigns based on current trends.
  • Analyzes fan base to target specific demographics to promote festivals.
  • Helps coordinate and advance day-of-show activities including radio station set ups, remote broadcasts, and escorting media photographers and news crews.
  • Creates, proofreads, and distributes newsletters.
  • Orders and deploys e-cards and e-blasts with AXS Advantage tool.
  • Checks that information and links are correct, communicates errors to designers, checks for accuracy, communicates errors, and signs off on the final version.
  • Researches new promotional activities and prizes for online social media giveaways.
  • Collaborates with artists to promote shows on their social media accounts.
  • Designs appropriate posting schedules that correspond with various event-related deadlines: announce, on sale, maintenance, and backend.
  • Monitors budget and accounting for marketing efforts and keeps management up-to-date on potential overages.
  • Provides reports for marketing costs.
  • Maintains good working relationships with partners, co-promoters, and media.
  • Develops special initiatives to involve the community in events.
  • Organizes artist promotions and giveaways.
  • May participate in hiring and training of street teams.
  • May also be responsible for the upload of expense reports, updating of office calendars, ordering of supplies, and general office administration.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or its equivalency
  • 2-4 years of related work experience
  • Experience calendaring events
  • Knowledgeable and skilled in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and Photoshop)
  • Basic accounting knowledge
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong PR skills, social media savvy, and organization skills
  • Must have strong work ethic, problem-solving, and prioritization skills
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Creative thinker; thinks “outside the box”
  • Knowledge of the music industry preferred
