About the Role

As a Senior Trial Attorney, you will represent clients under commercial and personal lines insurance policies independently as lead counsel. You will manage a caseload of varying complexity and severity throughout all courts and agencies in your assigned jurisdiction, maintaining a productive case volume while collaborating with claims partners and support staff.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate trial advocacy skills independently as lead counsel or as part of a team.
  • Handle all matters in accordance with Nationwide Trial Division standard methodology guidelines.
  • Utilize technology and collaborate with support staff for efficient case management.
  • Maintain awareness of changes to law, technology, and local rules impacting litigation strategies.
  • Provide sound opinions on case valuations and communicate them promptly to clients and claims.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with key associates and claims partners.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, claims partners, and internal teams.
  • Mentor junior attorneys and staff, providing guidance, training, and feedback.

Requirements

  • Active license to practice law in the state where the position is located.
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to pass a credit and background check.
  • Ability to travel frequently, including occasional overnight travel.
  • Willingness to work extended hours as necessary to meet professional demands.

Salary/Compensations

  • National salary range: $138,000.00 - $243,000.00
  • Expected starting salary range: $138,000.00 - $206,000.00
  • 15% targeted bonus
