About the Role
Lead operational problem-solving for quality issues related to externally purchased parts, impacting project reliability and cost management. Interface with suppliers to address quality issues and lead the resolution of warranty-related challenges, ensuring lessons learned are captured and shared across projects.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the interface between Alstom teams and external suppliers to resolve supplier quality issues during revenue services.
- Lead progress and monitor the completion of containment, corrective actions, and solution implementation.
- Ensure the Supplier Quality Portal is used effectively for warranty issues, including proper notifications to suppliers.
- Support projects to achieve K1, K2, and K3 problem-solving targets.
- Manage supplier performance during the warranty period with a dynamic escalation process.
- Support procurement and contract managers to consolidate Cost of Non-Quality (CONQ) for claim recovery and back-charge processes.
- Report and escalate critical situations to the Supplier Quality Warranty Manager to ensure resolution.
- Validate root causes and ensure solutions address identified issues effectively.
- Manage Return of Experience (REX) from warranty topics and share insights across projects.
- Support reliability growth activities during the warranty period.
- Travel to suppliers and depots as needed to monitor and follow up on action plans.
- Ensure a seamless handover with the Supplier Quality serial team before the start of the warranty period.
Requirements
- Degree in Technical and/or Quality Engineering.
- Knowledge of problem-solving methods and quality analysis tools such as 8D and Ishikawa.
- Experience or understanding of engineering, validation, field reliability growth, and the railway industry.
- Fluency in English.
- Familiarity with FMEA product/process and control plans.
- Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
