About the Role
Cambridge Associates is seeking a Product Manager to optimize data pipeline development, design and implement systems for data distribution, and lead the planning, execution, and lifecycle management of enterprise-level data platforms for Private Investment (PI) Benchmarks. This role supports revenue generation by ensuring timely and reliable benchmark delivery, a core differentiator for the firm.
Responsibilities
- Optimize data pipeline development, including ETL processes and SQL-based data transformations, ensuring performance, resiliency, and scalability.
- Design and implement systems for data distribution and delivery to internal tools, external clients, and third-party vendors.
- Apply advanced knowledge of resiliency and performance strategies to optimize systems for large-scale data operations.
- Responsible for the planning, execution, and lifecycle management of enterprise-level data platforms that produce and distribute the firm’s industry-leading Private Investment (PI) Benchmarks.
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable, resilient, and high-performing systems that support benchmark production and distribution across internal software, client-facing solutions, and third-party data vendors.
- Support revenue generation by ensuring the timely and reliable delivery of benchmarks, which are a core differentiator for the firm’s leadership in the Private Investment industry.
- Define and manage the product roadmap for enterprise data platforms, aligning with business objectives and strategic goals.
- Lead the full product lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and production support.
- Oversee complex, large-scale programs and projects using Agile methodologies.
- Develop and prioritize product features and enhancements based on client needs, market opportunities, and business strategy.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, data operations, client services, and senior leadership to ensure successful product delivery.
- Manage scope, timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure the on-time, high-quality release of products.
- Lead and manage AWS-based enterprise data solutions, including Data Lakes, Redshift, and other cloud technologies.
- Drive adoption of best practices in the SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle), including testing, release management, and performance tuning.
- Apply deep expertise in Private Investment benchmarks, including complex calculation methodologies such as IRR (Internal Rate of Return) and TWR (Time-Weighted Return).
- Lead the integration and distribution of benchmarks across proprietary tools, client-facing platforms, and third-party vendor systems.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness in the production and delivery of benchmarks to meet client and business needs.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to refine benchmark processes and address unique use cases for PI data.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams, business stakeholders, and executive leadership to align product vision with business goals.
- Develop and deliver clear communications regarding product status, risks, and performance metrics to stakeholders.
- Provide leadership and direction for the successful implementation of enterprise solutions that generate direct revenue and drive the firm’s market leadership.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to cross-functional teams, including developers, data engineers, and analysts, to ensure high-quality delivery.
- Lead efforts to upskill team members in areas of AWS, ETL, SQL, and benchmark processes.
Requirements
- Requires a bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Finance or a directly related field plus six (6) years of experience in product management in the financial services domain.
- Five (5) years of experience in product lifecycle management, including defining product roadmaps, gathering and prioritizing requirements, and leading end-to-end lifecycle management of enterprise-scale data platforms or software products.
- Five (5) years of experience in strategic roadmap development, including collaborating with business stakeholders, technical teams, and senior leadership to develop product strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Five (5) years of experience with Agile methodologies (Kanban and Scrum) and experience leading projects or programs using Agile frameworks, including backlog management, sprint planning, and iterative development.
- Four (4) years of experience in cross-functional team leadership, including experience leading and mentoring cross-functional teams, such as developers, analysts, and engineers, to achieve product delivery objectives.
- Three (3) years of experience in SQL for complex data querying, optimization, and performance tuning.
- Two (2) years of experience in ETL pipelines for high-volume data transformations, including tools such as HVR or equivalent ETL technologies.
