About the Role
Trane Technologies is seeking a Data Governance Analyst to ensure data assets are high-quality, secure, discoverable, and AI-ready. This role bridges business strategy and technical execution, driving cross-functional alignment on business semantics, operationalizing metadata standards, and enabling technical teams to develop data and AI/ML products efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Partner with domain stakeholders and data teams to develop and maintain enterprise business glossaries, metadata, and lines of ownership.
- Ensure consistent definitions and naming conventions across business units and functions.
- Facilitate decision-making to resolve data-related conflicts between departments.
- Define, monitor, and report on domain data and metadata quality metrics.
- Test and implement AI-augmented approaches to detect anomalies and accelerate remediation.
- Assist in the creation and enforcement of data governance policies, including data classification, retention schedules, and access controls.
- Contribute to team communications and playbooks to scale data governance knowledge.
- Deliver data governance training to business and technical team members.
- Promote responsible and effective use of AI in data governance processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Analytics, Data Science, Library & Information Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in analytics, data governance, data management, or knowledge management.
- Proven track record of operationalizing data-related policies and best practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with SQL and understanding of relational database structures and dimensional modeling techniques.
