About the Role

School Psychologists are an integral part of a comprehensive model of student services, engaging in planning, developing, and implementing individual and group programs to address behavioral, emotional, and academic concerns. They collaborate with teachers, mental health professionals, and community agencies to support student success.

Responsibilities

• Engage in planning, developing, and implementing individual and group programs to address behavioral, emotional, and academic concerns.
• Collaborate with teachers and mental health professionals on appropriate programming for students.
• Consult with community agencies that support children and youth.
• Work collaboratively with school teams, including teachers, guidance counselors, and administrators.
• Contribute to the development of Individual Program Plans (IPPs) and behavioral supports.
• Provide insight and support to teachers regarding student strengths and challenges.
• Participate in school-based decision-making regarding student placement.
• Plan, provide, or participate in professional development activities.
• Serve as a school-community liaison for school psychology services.
• Conduct psycho-educational assessments for students.
• Interpret assessment results for program planning teams.
• Provide written reports of assessments, interventions, and recommendations.
• Make referrals to other professionals and agencies as necessary.
• Assist with planning and implementing classroom management strategies.
• Counsel students and parents/guardians regarding student challenges and development.
• Maintain records and files related to services.
