About the Role
The Bishop Strachan School empowers talented girls from Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12 to become fearless women. We expect faculty to contribute beyond classroom teaching to enrich student experiences.
Responsibilities
- Teach Senior School Science and Biology
- Prepare lesson plans, outlines, and assessments using inquiry and problem-based learning
- Differentiate lesson plans based on student needs
- Participate in co-curricular activities including coaching, clubs, and trips
- Contribute to the overall well-being and growth of Senior School students
- Integrate technology in the classroom to enhance student learning
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress
- Integrate diversity, equity, inclusiveness, and belonging into the classroom learning environment
Requirements
- Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certified in Science and Biology
- Intermediate/Senior teaching qualifications
- Passion for aligning educational research with classroom practice
- Strong proficiency in Google Suite
- Knowledge of Brightspace is an asset
- Growth mindset of continuous improvement and learning
- Culturally competent with a positive attitude toward cultural uniqueness
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
