About the Role
We are seeking a Service Plumber to handle a range of residential plumbing tasks, including troubleshooting, installing, and repairing plumbing systems. You will diagnose issues, execute repairs and installations, and ensure all work meets high-quality standards and local codes. Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication with homeowners are essential.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose problems and failures in plumbing systems and equipment
- Determine whether repairs or replacements are needed for customers
- Install and assemble plumbing systems and equipment, including valves, pipe fittings, and pipes
- Perform installation, maintenance, and repairs on water and gas systems, pipes, fittings, and components
- Test for leaks using compressed air and/or water to ensure functionality and safety
- Repair and maintain plumbing systems by replacing washers, mending burst pipes, and clearing clogged drains
- Manage the inventory of plumbing supplies in the vehicle, including checking stock, placing orders, and verifying receipts
- Keep equipment and tools operational by following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures
- Maintain safety equipment
- Additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Journeyman or Tradesman License Required
- Minimum of 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial systems
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications
- Expertise in installing, maintaining, and repairing water, gas, and sewage systems
- Familiarity with local and state plumbing codes and regulations
- Experience with various tools and equipment, such as pipe cutters, threaders, and soldering tools
- Ability to diagnose complex plumbing issues and recommend effective solutions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers, team members, and supervisors
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, working in confined spaces, and handling tools for extended periods
- In-depth knowledge of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
- Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service, with a focus on professionalism and customer satisfaction
- Basic knowledge of mobile apps and work management software to track tasks and report on job progress
- Ability to lead apprentices, work well within a team, and coordinate with other trades on larger projects
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and emergency calls, as needed
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and 3 years of driving experience
- Lifting 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Climbing ladders, accessing attics, navigating tight spaces, driving, entering crawlspaces, pushing, carrying, pulling, using hand tools, and performing fine detail work
- Ability to drive
- Working in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, attics, crawlspaces
- Ability to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone
- Use hands to handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms
- Regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch
- Regular exposure to extreme temperatures both indoors and outdoors, such as heat or cold, and adverse weather conditions such as wind, rain, ice or snow
